Can twisting one verse lead you down the wrong path? Absolutely.

In a world where Scripture is often quoted loosely or interpreted poorly, confusion has taken root. In Misquoted, Misunderstood and Misused Bible Verses, Dr. Shelton Smith draws a firm line between what the Bible actually says and what people think it says.

With a commitment to the authority of God’s Word, Dr. Smith walks readers through some of the most commonly mishandled verses in Scripture. His approach is simple but essential: keep verses in context, lay aside personal bias and believe that God means exactly what He says.

This book challenges careless interpretation and confronts the misuse of Scripture. Whether you’ve struggled with certain verses or simply want to grow in discernment, this book will guide you back to the truth of God’s Word.

Great Read

I always enjoy reading about our KJV Bible and studying the truth about what’s in it. This book is helpful when it comes to verses that often are misunderstood and misused by people to justify their beliefs and sinful behavior. It helps you to be able to show in scripture the truth and I recommend it for anyone who has a burden for those who misunderstood , misinterpreted or misuse the Word of God .

Nothing new as "His Word" is forever settled in heaven

Some seminaries, some leaders in the churches, some elders and pastors, are certainly not reading and speaking God's Word correctly. Here in the northwest Calvinism has and is spreading. There will be a time of accountability for all, as examples given in Duet. chap. 4 and Rev. chap. 22.
I pray the Holy Spirit speaks and holds us accountable as I'm sure I've wrongly expressed an opinion on occasion. That being said, doctrinally speaking we best speak correctly.
Thank you for the book and the wisdom, it is encouraging to us.
