The contrast is striking! Without Christ, each of us is eternally lost, without hope, and forsaken of God. Such tragedy is turned into triumph when by faith we receive Christ as Savior. In His grace and mercy, God agrees never to leave us or forsake us (Heb. 13:5). The Greek text of this verse contains five negatives which intensify the meaning and suggest the title which Spurgeon chose.
