The outward, visible witness of creation and the inward, invisible witness of conscience—both testify the confirmation that there is a God. But these witnesses are not enough for one to be saved. The Bible carefully identifies the object of our faith for salvation: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved," and, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." When we reject revealed truth, darkness comes, and that leads to ungodly living. Truth is not traded for error—it is traded for unrighteousness.
