I & II Corinthians: The Church of God at Corinth
A Verse-By-Verse Commentary on the Books of I and II Corinthians
Dr. John R. Rice, founder and first editor of the Sword of the Lord, was a prolific author throughout much of the twentieth century. In addition to editorials and dozens of teaching pamphlets that are still in wide use, he wrote a number of major theological works dealing with many facets of the Christian faith. Among these are several verse-by-verse commentaries on some of the key books of the Bible.
I and II Corinthians: The Church of God at Corinth is Dr. Rice’s commentary on both of Paul’s inspired epistles to the Corinthians. This church, referred to by Paul as “carnal,” faced many spiritual problems. Since man’s old nature has not changed, it is not surprising to see that today’s church faces many of the same problems, although in a new setting. God’s revelation through Paul, explained in Dr. Rice’s inimitable style, still offers us His solution for these problems, making this volume a much needed help in our own day.
