He founded Victory Bible Baptist Church, a soul-winning church in Irmo, South Carolina, and pastored it for thirty-eight years.

Since retiring from the pastorate, he has served as an interim pastor, taught at the Bill Rice Bible Institute, and preached For the Faith conferences in various churches. His conferences address issues attacking the church today (such as Lordship salvation and hyper-Calvinism) and offer the average Christian the tools he needs to defend his faith.

Excellent Resource!

I appreciate this timely book by Dr. Chris Shepler because he confronts the numerous errors of Calvinism by letting the Bible speak for itself. Forewarned and Forearmed is a wonderful resource for anyone who desires to know what the Bible really teaches about God’s foreknowledge and the believer’s election and predestination. It is written in an easy-to-understand manner and makes for a helpful resource for pastors, college students, church members, or anyone who desires to be grounded in solid doctrine. As a local pastor, our church has been helped both by Dr. Shepler’s book, and by having him preach in our church on the subject of discerning the errors of Calvinism.

The Errors of Calvinism Refuted with the Truth of God's Word

I purchased the book a few months back and read through it quickly. It was easy to understand which is not always the case when dealing with the subject matter of Calvinism. It presented the teachings of Calvinism and then refuted each point with lots of Scripture and clarity. With New Reformed Calvinism sweeping through many churches today, this is a timely book written by a loving, seasoned Pastor. The book was so good, I contacted the author and invited him to come and teach it to our people at our church. He agreed. Every family in our church received a copy of the book and six hours of preaching / teaching on the topic. I highly recommend the book "Forewarned and Forearmed". More than that I recommend the author Dr. Chris Shepler! Buy the book and equip yourself with the tools essential to earnestly contend for the faith.
