Apples Of Gold

The blessed Word of God says,"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver" (Prov. 25:11).  In our memories we should store beautiful thoughts, stated in beautiful words.  Poetry has a charm for the memory. Rhythm, rhyme, alliteration, parallelism and contrast all help us to remember beautiful thoughts.  Christmas presents are more enjoyable for pretty wrappings.  Many a wonderful thought can be better received, remembered and taught with a poem.  Here are selected some of the best poems for enjoyment and use of Christians.  Many of them have been used in THE SWORD OF THE LORD with great blessing, and we hope they prove heartwarming and blessed to thousands of others.
